Born in Romania. My father, Constantin ILIESCU was a famous artist, he was living in Paris and south of France during a few years, studied in the Fine Arts academy of Paris. In our home town, Râmnicu Vâlcea,  a street has his name.

In the early twenties he had the chance to meet and join Picasso and his group of friends, shearing their creative and “bohemian” style of life. They remained in touch until the end of their lifes. That actually had a major influence on my orientation.

I graduated the Fine Arts Academy of Paris in 1974 and stayed based in Paris, which remains my major source of inspiration.
